Sponge runs Special Delivery text promotion for the Post Office

The Post Office offered its Special Delivery customers the chance to win 100 prizes every day during May via a text promotion.

Sponge powered the competition, which invited customers to text in SPECIAL and their 13 digit reference code, to shortcode 88100. The keyword and format of the receipt reference was automatically verified by Sponge.

Winners of prizes including bottles of champagne, boxes of Milk Tray and £10 cheques were asked to reply with their name, house number or name and postcode. A postcode lookup service determined their full address.
30 draws took place throughout the month. Entrants incurred no additional charges for texting in; paying only their normal network rates.

“The Post Office added value to each Special Delivery purchase and drove interaction with its customers via the text competition,” said Douglas McDonald, Client Services Director of Sponge.
