Sponge is One in a Million

Mobile marketing specialist Sponge, a division of NeoMedia Technologies, Inc, has proved they really are one in a million for ethical brand One Water (www.onewater.org.uk)

One Water supports the Roundabout charity (www.roundabout.co.za) in Africa by donating 100% of all profits to their clean water projects. By installing 'Roundabout PlayPumps' in villages, it ensures that people get free, readily available, clean water. The unique roundabout replaces the traditional 'hand pump' and works by a rotational movement. So by children simply playing on the roundabout, their energy pumps water for all the community. As a merry-go round has always been fun for children, there is never a shortage of 'volunteers'. In fact the pumps are so efficient; there is always excess water for irrigation purposes.

Jessie Briton at Sponge explains: "One Water approached us for help with their summer promotion to win a trip to Africa and we were delighted to support such a fantastic cause by giving our expertise free and allowing One full access to our Text to Win solution allowing them to build brand awareness."

Not just any prize, One is offering consumers the chance to win a trip of a lifetime to build a Roundabout Playpump in Africa. The competition will feature on 1 million bottles from August to October 2006 and Sponge is providing the brand with the perfect response mechanic for this nationwide campaign. "Sponge has given us the finishing touch we needed for this promotion. We approached them because of their fantastic reputation in handling high traffic promotions and were delighted when they not only agreed to work with us but also provide us with free strategic advice," says One founder Duncan Goose.

The One promotion will be supported by a national outdoor advertising campaign, an on-line campaign and a viral e-mail programme.
